Ixoxoctic

Ixoxoctic —which means “green” or “greenish” in Nahuatl—is a work in which Óscar Ponce merges the human and the animal in a symbolic and evocative composition. The central figure, a woman with a deep and serene gaze, is flanked by two red roosters, symbols of strength, awakening, and connection to the earth. The interplay of light, textures, and transparencies in her clothing, along with the palette of cool, earthy tones, reinforces a mystical atmosphere that evokes the ancestral.
